Going to be cleaning and painting my exhaust header - in '74, were these headers painted flat black or a satin/gloss black back in '74? Same for cylinder head I assume? Frame and related like peg supports, etc were gloss black as I recall.

I used this stuff on exhaust, worked out real nice, just need to be careful after applying because it does cure until exhaust gets hot. 

I used rustoleum 1400F flat black on cylinder and head after a very light dusting of zinc chromate primer. 

only time will tell if I did this right
