Blind plug leaking oil was created by treeves

I posted I was finally finished with my DT 360 a couple of months ago. I think most of you new that was not true. I have gotten the oil leaks fixed except for the blind plug is leaking a little oil, I can not find a new one so is there any way to stop the leak.

1974 DT360?

Yamaha still sells them... shouldn't be hard to get.

I would buy from RMATV-MC... but linking to their specific parts pages directly doesn't work.

Or wait, is that the bigger plug over the end of the shift drum they used on some models?

Kind of looks that way at second thought...

If you can carefully remove it, apply some Yamabond, and reinstall, it would probably seal.

But what always tends to happen to me is that the leak is somewhere else... especially under the output shaft which really isn't sealed all that good. Can you clean it up real good.... let it sit until it looks like it's leaking... then dust the area with baby powder or flour? Often that technique will show you exactly what's seeping and where. Leak could be coming from up higher and running down.
