Got it.  Makes sense now.  I think one of the early posts had a wiring diagram...  but let's see what you have in terms of number of wires and colors.  It should be pretty simple.

Picture of bike and bike wires came through.  For some reason no pictures of CDI box wires are shown.  Which is hard for me to understand because you seem extremely desperate for help but aren't able or willing to even show us the details of what you're looking at?  Seems to be happen a lot here lately...  it's not just you.

What might be confusing is not all those stator wires go to CDI.

The Yellow and the two Greens (one green should have a stripe, probably red) are for headlight (yellow) and day/night battery charging.  Just tape those up so the wire doesn't short out to ground or each other.

Then it looks like you have a white/red, a white/green, a brown, and a black.

White/red and white/green should be at CDI box along with brown.  Those are the trigger and power wires. Just connect like to like by color.

The black should connect to the black at the CDI box...

Hopefully your  CDI box then has an Orange and a Black/White.  Orange goes to wire to ignition coil and white/black goes to kill switch.  If you ground white/black it kills the spark.

If you don't have an Orange at CDI box you might have an extra black there...  that would go to ignition coil.  Not sure how to tell the two blacks apart if you don't have the orange at CDI box.  But we can't see what you have so I can't even try.

jmac- if you have a 75 DT400 the 3 wires in the plastic plug are all AC and would only have power when kicking over.  Those wires are for the lights and battery charging and have nothing to do with the ignition.

Need a lot more info to try to help.  Wire colors, etc.  More detail on what you mean when you say key and kill switch have power.
