DT125 Carb Leaking Gas was created by Bsconnor3
Hi all,
I recently had to clean my carb a couple times to finally get my bike to start. However, now it will only start on the "Reserve" gas setting on the petcock even though there's a decent amount of gas in the tank. On top of that, gas is leaking quite profusely from the carb in multiple places. When I cleaned it I noticed the gasket between the two pieces of the carb body was fairly worn and thin but it was definitely not doing this before I took it apart and cleaned it. I'm assuming I may have made a mistake when cleaning it and will have to take it back off but what should I be looking for and what kind of issue does this sound like? Thanks!

Needle & seat debris holding it open or damaged, float level too high

It's possible the needle but I would also figure the float setting is off.
Measure upside down 1" up to the bottom of the float resting on a clean working needle
Then replace the bowl gasket ..

What year? I had a '76 DT125 and I don't recall a needle jet o-ring, but the earlier models had them.
First guess would be the float level. Inspect the float needle/seat for wear, replace if necessary.
