The trick is to get your own Quote for LTL (less than truck load) dimensional freight on line. I used YRC freight. If you call them and ask for a quote over the phone it will be 3to 4 times the price of you puting in the dimensions and weight yourself.

I had support on the other end in Michigan. I grew up there riding Yamaha Enduros. My brother had tools for me to use, my nephew let me build the create in the back of his truck then took me to theYRC terminal for drop off.

I found the three 74 DT360s on Ebay they came with a fourth parts bike that I was able to title. I drove back to Michigan and spent more in fuel than flying there and shipping. Driving was roughly 70hrs behind the wheel. Flying, uber to and from airport = 11hrs total 8hrs disassembly , crate build, reassembly. Sure wish I could find package deals like these closer to home.

Great to read this post.
Soon,i am coming to the US from the UK.
By volume ,it's less hassele and cost to buy complete bikes than boxes of spares. Not at the US end but when you get back to the UK. Bikes are easy by comparison. For instants,1met square,50KG at £500 value of vintage parts ( older than 30 years )
28 days by sea,£570. Almost £300 of that is fictisious charges ( handling, security checks, customs, tax,) and if you don't itemise the parts ,they scrap them !

That I don't know. I took a quick look at their website, I saw they have a domestic ocean shipping division. I didn't see anything on railway.

Rob, good job on boxing them up, you have good skills, girls like guy with good skills.
I'm sure if I built the crate it would fall apart during shipping.
Thanks Mark
