In Marks link, if you've removed #17 then #19 with it's components, then the next #17, the case should lift off & leave #19, #16, plus selector drum & gearbox etc behind.
Circlip #22 on shaft #18 is on the inside of the case so not seen.
Circlip #17 on shaft #16 is also on the inside so not seen.
Hope that reads understandable. I know what i mean lol.

It was indeed the pin I pointed out in one of my previous replies. I gave it a nice firm whack with a screwdriver and the whole case slid right off. Thank you to everyone for helping me out.
