Have you tried starting it. I had one at work in the "70's that had an almost invisible strand of something conductive bridging the terminal of the points to the nearest thing it could find to earth it out. Magnets had found something & spat it off there.

I've had the mag off numerous times and never thought about the magnets picking something up. I'll give that a check.

So, had problems with my 125 running INTERMITTENT today...AND recently. Pulled tank off to look the coil over and found a LOOSE connection!! Bike runs great now.

This is just a FYI to check the unexpected. I didn't think I would find this problem.

Good news for you.

I pulled the stator off one of mine that are running and great spark. Check the primary coil and only reading 2.8. Book says 4.9 +/-.
Looking for some one to rebuild as I'm not sure I could do it.

Congrats on the easy fix.

I bought new points and condensers and installed both. Still, very intermittent weak spark. So, I checked the primary coil and it checks out good. Got disgusted and was going to spend $300 on a stator rebuid. BUT first, I decided to try another set of points and another condenser. Another $120 ( for 2 of each). Put the stator on the bike and guess what??? Spark!!!

Now I just have to get the exhaust unplugged and I can try starting it.

Fingers crossed.

Who were the suppliers and/or makes of the parts that didn't work? Others here will then know to avoid them!

Even brand new point contacts often need to be cleaned on magneto systems.  (Not sanded or filed, just cleaned properly)

I have another stator with same problem so I'll try these new ones on that and see if it works a second time and report back. I did file and then used contact cleaer as well on all before installation.

GR Motorcycle in Canada worked condenser.

bikebuzzard2 in Michigan worked for points.

Retro-motorcycles did NOT work.

All on Ebay.
