RT3 - finally on the loose! was created by pahiker

Got my plates, registration, and title done today. Got home looking forward to take her out for a spin, but she didn't want to start. Maybe due to the cold weather, was down in the upper 20's last night. Even tried to pop start it but no luck. Plug had gas/oil on it and spark. Figured I'd try a new plug, but no B9ES anywhere. One shop had a resistor plug, BR9ES, so tried that and it fired up in a couple kicks. Quite an experience riding this two wheeled time machine! No mirrors, which was pretty unnerving, coupled with a very weak front brake, need to check that. Installed mirrors after the ride. But overall a fun experience! Bounced around on some local roads and appreciated the low seat height and easy to modulate clutch and tranny. Got it on the highway and it's pretty buzzy,a friend has a DT360A and warned me to get a license plate frame or the plate will crack. It runs well except at full throttle it bogs, will need to check that out too, but overall it's a fun trip into yesteryear. Many thanks to the contributors on this forum, the downloadable owners manual, service manual and informative comments on the forums provided a valuable service to the lucky owners of these machines!
