I use the genuine slim style yamaha trail grips. However I remember as a kid, my AT3 had the fatter, more multi ribbed style than the more modern types.

From what I remember, these are pretty close to the original AT3 style grip:

I'm using almost 50 year old Scott grips I bought for my original CT-1. I never liked the originals, which reminded me of minibike grips, with the flappy soft rubber ribs.

Yes KDI grips are very good. I have a couple sets left over. Probably never use them now that i stop restoring bikes. Here is a picture of KDI's new items coming out. He says any day now.

Thanks HT1KID,

Yes everything comes to a end. In fact i just sold the last DT1 of the 3 i had this last week. Haulbikes is picking up the last 2 DT1's in a few days. Both going to Calif where the 68 DT1 ended up going. All are going to very good homes.

Good price on those seat straps for sure!

I only use FOAM grips on my enduro bikes, They keep all the bad vibes at bay for long rides, love them! The only downside is they can get soaked

I like the looks of the original grips, because they are original. I have some from KDI and like them.

Back in the day I had soft rubber domino retro grips and I really liked them for trail riding with or without gloves. They weren't called retro back in the day! They offer some isolation against vibration, and have a good control feel that I don't know how to describe. They last about 10 years, and at some point after that they start to disintegrate. Ozone and rubber don't mix?
The newer ones may last longer. dominoracing.com/shop/vintage/domino-retro-grips/

A few years back I couldn't find them and wanted something with a similar feel. I found these Pro Grip 714 Dual Sport Gel Grips Black and like them. Not as good as the dominos without gloves, but still good. They are designed so you can safety wire them to the bars. I've had a pair of these for 10 years and they are still very good. www.denniskirk.com/pro-grip/714-dual-spo...90120.prd/590120.sku

The foam grips I have tried feel sandpaper-like on my hands. But you don't notice that with gloves.
