CT3 Speedo Drive Gear rusted to hub..........(Need advice on how to remove)

This drive gear seems to be rusted to the hub......... any advice on how to remove?

I've got mine off in the end by using long nose pliers & forcing on the teeth but wonder if you fitted a tube over it to protect the seal then apply heat down through the tube. Seal comes out easy enough & can re-use it if ya careful.

I have been heating it on and off today but hasn't moved much yet........ Will be soaking overnight.

I've had some luck trying to rotate gear CCW by the flats so it climbs the little gear... works really good if little gear is stuck

If all else fails is there room to drill a couple of opposing holes from the outside in to tap the back of the gear with a punch or nail. Best pull the little gear out if you have an un-do thingy & just get it out of the way. With that gear removed & if any slight movement you can work at it with more room just nosey pliers on the gear teeth--won't hurt it if you don't slip.

I gave up on removing this and ordered a different hub off of Ebay for $30...... Problem solved!
