Hi Brucher, the owners manual available in the Technical section of this forum gives figures of 15-18 ft/lbs (see page 54). It also details the two stage tightening process and the criss-cross pattern to follow when tightening the head down. Hope this helps. Andy.

Are you talking & torquing about 'all' the bolts & nuts as 4 small & 4 big--big through bolts or call them deep nuts. Think i go to about 20 on the small & 40 on the big. I tend to overtighten everything though lol, but never come loose.

I think the "big and small" came in with the '74 bikes.

No, big & small came in with RT1 in "70 & carried through to "73. Maybe ya thinking of the ones down in the fins on those later ones. Early models have 17mm hex sleeve nut going down through the fins holding head & cylinder down along with 4 smaller nuts on 8mm studs.
