CT3 Restoration - trasmission problem was created by Gallotti
Good morning everyone, I am writing to you from Switzerland and I apologize for my "basic" English.
I am restoring a Yamaha ct3 and have the following problem with the transmission (video).
What did I do wrong? When I reassembled it I was sure it was in neutral position...but now I have some doubts
Can you guys help me?
Thank you.

try turning the sproket or clutch shaft while shifting, see if it works

I see in one of the pics showing the clutch without the pressure plate on, that there's no steel last in. Should be a steel for the pressure plate to push on. I suspect? that you've fitted the steel in first--which is wrong sorry--. Unless the pressure plate is splined--which it shouldn't be in your case--it bares on the spring posts to take the drive. Which is why the steel splined plate needs to go in last. Hope you can follow that or hope you got it right after pic was taken. Parts pic might show it differently but not right. Also leave those rubber separator rings out if you have them there. Regarding gear changing & as has been said already, you'll need to move the sprocket shaft to get the dogs to find their slots in the opposing gear.

Really?
Thank you so much for the advice. I actually followed the manual and the pic indicates to start with the steel plate. I also have the rubber and will be removing them.
You have helped me a lot
