New Headlamp needed was created by Dave G

My 72 DT2 has blown it's headlight and I wondered what everyone does for a replacement?

I am happy to stay 6v for now as I never ride it at night in any case :)

If you want to stay original Yamaha/Koito BUT with the facility to change bulbs, then you need part number 214-84120-61 and I have attached some photos of it. They turn up on fleabay from time to time - also search under the Koito reference.

Before you fit ANY new headlight, make sure that you fit a 6v voltage regulator. I have attached a link below explaining why and how.

If you want to try to replace the bulb, this is an inexpensive fix, if you're handy with tools. I did this to my '71 DT1 recently.
