RT3 carb o-ring was created by kingjoel

Does anyone know the size of the o-ring that goes on the carburetor main nozzle (214-14147-00-00) of a 1973 360? I have replaced this o-ring twice in about a years time. I want to find a viton o-ring that hopefully lasts longer. Thanks

Read the thread and especially the post linked below... DT175B uses same o-ring part number 214-14147-00 so should be industry number -007 and "flourosilicone" sounds like the best material.

Thank you MarkT! I just ordered a pack of 5 from McMaster-Carr. $3.12 + $8.00 shipping. It would be fantastic if these fit the diaphragm on a 1978 GS 1000 petcock also. I will have a few extras if anyone needs one. I can mail them USPS instead of FedEx or UPS.

I add Seafoam to my fuel occasionally. Could that eat up an O-ring?

It is rumored that Seafoam contains Naptha ?

If so, won't be good to use with flourosilicone.

There are lists of o-ring materials and their compatibility with different chemicals all over the Internet. The problem is with something like Seafoam is they call it a "mixture" and don't always give you all the details lest you find out you can make your own for pennies.

I've always thought nitrile (Buna-N) was a great material for gasoline with or without ethanol... Sofflier from the other thread claimed to be an engineer with experience and said the flouro stuff was better.

What I would do is soak sample o-rings in the gas you use and in Seafoam and see what happens to them.

Thanks to this post I also ordered a set of (5) for $11.00 shipped to my door. Ordered Monday afternoon and have them in hand today (Wednesday). Awesome. They are just spares so glad to hear they work. I see the rating on them is good from -80 to +400 degrees. Resistant to oils and fuels even the modern fuels and many additives. I'll have them in reserve for the existing bikes and will install from the start on future builds.
