Soldering condenser was created by Prinzy

Does anybody have any tips or tricks on soldering condensers on? It looks like it could be a real pain in the ass if you don’t know what you’re doing. 71 dt1

I clamp the points and coil wires down with one tab to hold them in place and solder to the other tab after bending it over

Yeah, its a pain. Make sure you have a really good soldering iron. My 1st attempt didn't go well, so I went to the local hardware and bought a nice soldering iron and it went much better.

Rosin core solder for electrical. (or solid core solder and rosin paste that are both made for electrical connections.)

Talking condensers, I've got used to CDI & not much going wrong.
But i have an old Dolmar Sachs 112 chainsaw i was abusing yesterday down the farm & started misfiring until it stopped.
Bought it second hand about 30 years ago.
Found it has spark but is a bright flash & not concentrated.
Google says it has points, man it must be old.
So i'll have to 'go in' & see what's in there. Or looks like i can buy a coil cdi 'module that bolts straight on & carry on into the sunset, but that's too easy.
Also it has a flat red plastic thing hanging off the coil that melted to the cylinder head & has a couple of wires going one to earth & other looks like might be joined to the coil.
Doesn't look condenser as we know it Jim!!, or is it.
I'll get a pic of it & what i find, but thinking condenser is under the flywheel normally--umm, on Yamaha.
