Hi does anyone have the specs for low and high speed ignition coil in stator specs....i seen in cmsl low speed is 1.42 ohms which i believe should be 1.42kohms as that is what i have...the high speed seems to be correct at 460ohms...
my bike is missing at high rpm. Noticed this past weekend racing as it started to miss at high rpm in 3rd gear at start..bike continues to run ok..
checked ht coil cold and heat soaked , ok...ckd kill switch..clipped 1/4"off ht lead and cleaned insert and assembled( non resistor slicoln cap).

Thanks...Joe

Yep from back in the day I still have 1427 ohms in mind for the main source thing. The windings are the gauge of fine hair pretty much. What's the story--no spark?. OK read your complete post now. I'd think the first sign of the charge coil going off would be not wanting to spark at kick speed. It's all magic in the coils & cdi box. Close the plug gap to 22 max. I guess the high speed could be faulty but dare I say it--not muffler delaminating & blocking up under throttle. They were really good bikes--in 1978.

Spark plug is my guess.  And yes, make sure gap is 0.020" to 0.024" max.

I have specs someplace.  I will try to remember to look when I get home.

Hi Sir...
i suspected that they left off the "k" for resistance check..
i replaced plug but did not reduce gap to .020 as i was at track...used a japanese made ngk in a new honda box so believe it is not conterfit.
i found and bought a high speed stator coil. Cleaned all connector bogh male and female, grounds and coil mount spot faced so will see if this all helps before replacing stator or HT coil.. bike still ran ok just did not like to be wrung out, like it was hitting a limiter...will update ...thanks for all the help guys..
anyone have actual input/experience with changing oil in decarbon rear shock?

When checking high speed stator coil #2 (lower) resistance would jump around when tapping on coil and with heat soaking resstance would go from 56o ohms to 46o ohms and change quickly back to 560 and again jump around several ohms when tapping...it did not jump on low speed coil when tested...
Found a nos coil and will test when it arrives before installation.. believe this is the issue..

Is this misfire a new event?. back in--might've been 1980 no 78 but on my yz125g there was a looped wire that came out of the cdi box short loom the turned & went back in. The magic trick was to cut it which let it rev on--& on to destruction, unlimited--which is what we wanted haha & not worried about blow ups--we want performance.

Yes it just started at last race...got the hole shot but in 3rd is started to miss bad WFO..
Found a new H.S oem coil and i should have it in by the end of the day.. coil resistance keeps changing it is now 1.56k ohms, must be a broken winding...should be .460 k ohms or 460 ohms...checked integrity of all wires..all good..will update asap...thx all...joe

I only use an old style meter & like to see that needle swing. Sounds like your using a digital that is dropping zeros randomly. Hope you are right though & it's fixed. Did I mention muffler falling to bits.
