1974 GTMXA - Number Plate was created by ZTatZAU
Hoping for some help here!
I'm resurrecting a 1974 Yamaha GTMXA that's been stashed in a corner for 35-40 years. The project is coming along but I'd like to replace the bile's long missing 'number plate on the front fork. As per the parts manual, other than hardware, there are three main components... 32) Plate, Number 288-23485-00, 35) Stay, Plate 288-23486-00-00, and 36) Band 288-23489-00-00. The FSM is silent on the number plate or its installation.
This image is hidden for guests.
While none of the three parts are still available, I've seen a few of the rubber bands on eBay, but no such luck on the Number Plate or Stay Plate. I'm thinking, if I can't find the number plate or stay plate, I could fabricate reasonable facsimiles if I could find good pictures of the OEM parts and how they are installed. A simple sketch with dimensions and any other fabrication/mounting details would also get me going.
Can anyone help with this? ZT

I ordered this one for my JT and it is good quality, but not truly original.

Truly original comes with a higher price tag than I can handle.

Thanks for the info and links, Schu!
That aftermarket kit looks just fine. This is a planned resurrection rather than a restoration so not truly original wouldn't bother me.
That NOS number plate is way beyond my budget.
