JT1 - Two Spring front end conversion? was created by 71-yamahaRob

Hi guys, I am looking to get a set of new forks made for my JT1. I am planning to go with Franks Forks. However, I was considering ordering two tubes made for springs to replace the original that had only 1 tube with a spring. Would this work? I see no reason why it would not. The only thing I can not tell is if the inside of the outer tubes are somehow different and it would not work because of that. If anyone out there has done it please let me know!

Thanks,
Robert

I dont see why it wouldnt work. I literally just put mine back together except i bought new GT80 forks that were on ebay because to have the originals re-chromed would have cost doubled for what i just paid. Gt80 forks are only like 3/4" longer. Just thought id throw that info out for you. But i see no reason why having 2 spring type forks wouldnt work.

Thanks for the GT80 tip good idea for next time. I sent my forks to Franks- they reuse the original collars and will make the new ones both for springs apparently.
