Hello, guys! I just found out that, as I believed, my bike is not GT80, but '74 YZ80a. At least it has engine from it. Frame looks like from Yamaha YZ80a, because of separate foot rest part, but VIN shows different. I also noticed that a lot of parts from gt80 fits yz80a, but not cylinder. I putted carburetor from PW80, that's what I found most similar to GT80 carb. Anyways, bike started, but would only work on high rpms, no idle. As I later found out, my fuel was not that clear and it might cause this. I putted a plastic gas tank for temporary measure, and it even somehow idle. But later on when I wanted to try to ride, it wouldn't start! I pulled the spark plug and it was clean, no fuel was coming to cylinder. I thought problem might be in float and there is no enough fuel in bowl, but even when I poured some fuel straight into carburetor, still clear spark plug. I took reed valve out, puffed into it and air easily came through. As I noticed, on other 3 reed valves that I have from gt80, the sound is similar to flute. I putted 3 leafs reed valve, instead of 2 leaf valve. Can it be a problem? Anyways, if I change jets on my carburetor to size that OEM YZ80a carb has, would it work? or I need to adjust sizes? I looked on the Internet and the only YZ80a carburetors for sale are for newer ones, and they have flat side connection to intake manifold, while mine slides on and tights with a bolt. So does anybody know, what I can do to make my carb similar to YZ80a or what carb should I buy or maybe some technical information that would make differences clear?
