Phyllo, thanks for the sketch. The current fender bracket is attached to those outer bolt holes, so was thinking I could use it as a base to modify/weld to. That sketch will come in handy.

Going to do the fender mod, but not immediately. Just enjoying the bike for a moment.

* changed both tires, tubes, liners. Added Shinko SR241s.
* cleaned up rear mounting hardware, no more rust on rear adjusters! Here is a tip, I've been putting parts in capped paint cups 8-16oz, then putting those floating or immersed in an ultrasonic cleaner. Seems to speed up chelation a little.
* still need to remove shocks and hardware for cleaning.
* new DID chain is on
* turn signals on and working.
* brakes pads looked good, did need to remove lube up hub area a bit for brake lever arm to return properly.

Took it for a ride in rush hour traffic, up /down some local hills. The 250 took care of business. Engine ran great, idling rock solid 1,500rpm and would twist an rpm needle on request.

Besides the Phyllo™ mod that I'm doing next, and painting rear fender/tail light assembly , this bike is done. This will include a black stripe like the original fender had, but in this case will be my old 74 DT360 fender.
