Which piston is this? was created by pabdt
I just picked up a 360 DT engine and started disassembling it to check things over and clean it up. Cylinder and piston/rings/looked good.
The poor engine was out to pasture with literally 29 other bikes.
I'm wondering which piston this is. the piston/rings appear in great shape. Apparently 0.5mm over by stampings.
Has 1 ring.
No Yamaha markings, but a 36501 on inside of piston.

Thanks for the info. I asked him for a carb and he apparently stuck a 415 00 on it. 415 Product code shows Euro dt175???? 1973? Same as USA 74? No 175s at my house….yet
i think i got shorted on carb.

175 carb would be a smaller body than 360 carb. I doubt the manifold would even tighten down that much?
Anyway, seems unlikely you'd find a rare Euro DT175 carb laying around in the US. Other manufacturers used Mikuni and those codes could be for a Suzuki model or something?
