Does it matter what the throttle opening is when it "bogs down" at 5,000 RPM? (You should be able to rev to redline at very low throttle openings)

If not, then it's an almost certainly an ignition issue.

Cannot get the bike out now(in work) but it bogs down in top gear rolling the throttle on and also in lower gears accelerating hard

Just tried the bike revs to between 5-6k revs before starting to bog at a 1/4 throttle.

You shelled out a lot of money for the CDI system... why not give them a ring and ask them what is wrong?
Or ask them for a replacement.

Rang them this morning, said I had a problem, just said send it back, didn't seem interested in what was wrong until I made a point of telling him then said sounds like carburattion. Carb been checked twice and is ok, going to whip it off later.
