1972 Ct 2 175 was created by D.kramer

I have a 1972 Ct 2 175 that the previous owner extended the swing arm 2 inches. In the process of get the bike up and running . Was wondering if I should change the swing arm out. Trail riding is my objective. Had Kawasaki enduros many years ago in the 70s. Suzukis and Hondas my MX years.

Hope to see a photo if possible. In theory "my theory haha" it'll be ok if welded up good. Be keen to know did previous owner do anything to the front or put better damped & sprung rear shocks for the extra leverage. Are the arm shock mounts still original so added a bit in the middle, or?, shocks now angled forward etc.
My abomonation i just extended the axle lugs. Well--that's half true, The only arm i had someone had shortened in the middle so i bought it back to standard plus about an inch. Looks rough but won't break in a hurry. I'm pretty handy with an arc welder. Even welded the broken in half gearbox main shaft on my BSA in 1964 haha & outlasted the bike.
