Hello from Germany! was created by 512_Newbie
Hello, my name is Lennart and I've owned a 1975 DT250 for two weeks now. It's a US import that came to Germany in 1995. Unfortunately, I don't know which state the bike comes from or any other information about the former owner. Based on the worn paint on the cylinder head, I would say that it could have been ridden over many sandy tracks.
I hope that I will soon be able to register and ride it on the road again.
Otherwise I have two Royal Enfields. A Bullet 500 that I have converted into a chopper, and a Continental 650 that I have modified into a cafe racer.
if you are interested, here are some photos and clips of the Yamaha and the other bikes:

Welcome from NZ I'll check out the videos later as my old iPad can't handle it. Talking Royal Enfields my first scramble bike (motocross) in the early 60's was a "54 350 Bullet. Wasn't fun haha. Wish photography & video had been as easy back in those days.

Ok have watched the video & pics now thanks, nice clear pics.
Video sounds like possibly someone has knocked out the spark arrestor deep in the tail muffle? or is it just me with hearing aids too loud haha.
RE pic reminds me of mine. Can't imagine nowdays how we raced bikes like that back in the "60's.]
Just a question--the rear shocks on the DT250 look interesting. What are they, & do they have adjustable damping. I guess theyre gas pressurised oil also.
Look like they have plenty of travel too, just expanding the pic where its up on the bench--nice.

Hey RT. Yes, although the 350 Bullet was originally developed for the military, the heavy bike is certainly not suitable for motocross riding
Although there are also trail versions of this one. I haven't ridden one yet.
I didn't have the feeling that the bike was too loud. But I also only have the comparison to MZ motorcycles with 2-stroke 250 cc. I'll check it out once I've fixed the problems I've had so far. Or what do you mean? :-)
The rear shocks are from YSS, you can find a photo here:

You can adjust them, but i didnt tried it yet. I bought them with the bike.

Those shocks look great in the closeup pic.
Probably about the standard original length,.
just thought they looked longer than originals in the earlier pics.
All good.
