dt400 repro gas tanks was created by RobertE

Anybody have any experience with some of the reproduction gas tanks for dt400's that are advertised on ebay?   Mine is totally shot beyond repair.

I'm having the same issue with mine. I would like to hear of any feedback on these also. The reviews of these show a lot of leaking issues being common.

Don't tell me that, I just bought one a few days ago (unpainted). I guess I'll pressure test it when it comes in, did you try sealing it or does it need to be rewelded?

I might have an extra original in decent condition if anyone if interested.  I'll try to look the next few days.

If my repro tank from India don't pan out I may need another one. What's the best way to test for leakers? I was going to seal the cap area, supply 1-2 psi air to the petcock flange and submerge the tank in water and look for bubbles. Is there a better way?

May we know how much does it weighs? The Repro tank VS the original.

With steel copies, they usually use thinner gauge than what being used on stock unit.
