Dt 360 a couple of questions was created by treeves

Put the original blinkers on bike I took off in 1974, the lights light but do not blink. I did buy new bulbs, did the same thing, so I bought a flasher relay off of ebay it is 6 volts. The relay did not come with directions. Would anyone know how I would connect the wires?
I have put about 200 miles on the bike since I finished. I have bored the bike back in late 70s and have not taken head off since. The bike cranks in 2 to 3 kicks when cold. I can ride the bike a few miles and leave the bike off for 30 minutes and when trying to crank it may take maybe 10 times, also feels like it has very little compression. When cranks seems to run good but I do notice after hot the bike will hesitate at about 2500 rpm and then after a few seconds idles fine. I am going to do a pressure test and see if the motor has an air leak and after that is fixed I will check cylinder and piston.
Is there anything else I need to check?

Do those flasher terminals have any markings?

Flasher relay instructions below, courtesy of MarkT!

With modern replacements it makes no difference, but be aware that modern three pin relays are not the same as original Yamaha ones. You only really need a two pin one and the brown wire goes to the pin marked B or X and the Brown/White to the pin marked L.

Others will come back regarding engine issues, but check that the decompression valve is closing ok.

To add to what Alan posted, do not connect the black wire to the "extra" flasher terminal... (probably marked "P" for "pilot") If you do, you'll have a direct short when you switch on the turn signal.

You'll need to insulate the third flasher terminal (usually the one that's 90 degrees from the other two) so it cannot contact anything.

Yes, mis-matched wattage could be the issue. The same indicators had different wattage bulbs and relays, depending on where in the world you were - UK bikes at that time tended to get 8w.
