CT3 - piston ring was created by Gallotti

hi guys,
i am having trouble finding piston rings. If the piston has a diameter of 65.4mm, how much tolerance do I have? could I fit 62mm rings for example?

Sorry to say if your piston is that far under 66mm std then you have a problem. How is the cylinder condition. Maybe measure the piston again at the base or even just above the two windows but no higher up & lets know what you get. If its 'that' worn then the cylinder won't be good so might need to go looking for an oversize piston kit complete. But ok, lets start again when measured. Best of luck.
Just to add, 65.4 is 0.6mm under 66, about 24 thou.

just thinking, could slide a feeler blade in with the piston to see what clearance but still need to be sure its standard as in 66mm. Take rings off & slide piston in with the blade measuring the skirt at the base & go up in blade size until tight enough to feel that's the limit. ideally should only be about 0.04mm or 1.6 thou but guess she'll be over that--just how far is the question. Then look at the top of the cylinder to see if there's a ridge where the top ring stops. Could then fit the piston upsidedown & do the feeler blade test but go a bit below top to miss any unworn cylinder at the very top few mm. Just to compare bottom to top for wear as will be more at top--plus around the ports but don't worry about that area just yet.

I've ordered them, thank you very much.
Just for information, how did you work it out? Are there any particular codes?
