I was JUST saying to my wife how much I love reading through you Brits and NZ-ers and Australian guys' posts, how you teach us such subtle things about the language and where ours here in the States comes from!! And then I read it aloud to her as best I could. And then the very next thing I read is, "Try reading it aloud..." Apparently many folks from Maine come from Yorkshire? I was asking directions up in the state of Maine one summer and was told to take the left "fahck in tha rude." After I rolled up the window, my wife without missing a beat, said, "Well...that was pretty fahckin' rude!"

By far the HT-1B is my favorite and very first enduro, bought a new one as my first new vehicle of any kind. Here's my 90 restored and a picture of my original 90 in about 1972, note the neighbor's Mopar in the background. Glad to see the Ht-1B's getting some love.

I know it is a bit late in the year and I am a new member, but I'd like to see how your restoration of the HT-1 is going. I might be able to learn something along the way as I am considering restoring one of my HT-1's in 2019. I have one that has already been restored, but, I'd like to gain as much insight as possible prior to delving into the process.
Please take care and have a very pleasant day!
Best regards,
Bob

Hi Bob.
Don't get the frame powder coated.
I don't think there's anything wrong with powder coat but spray looks better.
Get it blasted and spray coated with acid etch primer after so it doesn't rust. That way you can paint it your self with enamel and if there's any degradation to the frame or swinging arm surface ,you can repair it first .
If you repair it in the US you have the services of DEET , KDI restos and Enduronut for some services. .

So today i have fitted the " O " ring to the primary drive side of the crank and fitted the clutch assembly.
Then i re sheathed all the handle bar switches and ignition barrel.
tested all the resistances first and replaced the bullet connectors on a couple of leads
Tomorrow i'm going to be doing some cleaning and plating.
I'm on the look out for one of these below so i can finish the light switch.
It's the high / low selector toggle and of course it's snapped.

You mean something like this? (picA)
That slides back and forth like this? (picB)
And when detached from the body of the switch looks like this? (picC)

PM me your address. I got that harness when I bought an AT-3 engine and carb,, fuel tank, and exhaust pipe...all for $100. You need anything else off the switch? It'll be a small padded envelope, just the toggle. You want both the inner and outer parts, right?
Do I need to say anything in the package about value? That it's gratis, or $1 US, just to satisfy the taxman?
