I've made an aluminum intake manifold adapter plate for my 70 DT1C.  It will allow putting a spigot mount Mikuni VM/TM 32-34 carb on the bike. Do the intake manifold studs thread into the cylinder or are the pressed in? I need to replace them with M8 x 50mm flat head screws. Planned technique-double(or triple) nut the stud then heat/penetrantat the cylinder.  Anyone else done this?  This is a good, 1st OS cylinder, don't want to make more work.  Thanks

Threaded, and Mikuni makes a flange adapter to convert to spigot carb.  Just need to know the stud spacing to get the right one.

Replied by thumperstew on topic Removing intake manifold studs from cylinder

Thanks Mark. I have found/purchased manifolds with 60mm bolt spacing but the mount holes are for M6 allen head screws. When bored out for M8, there is no room for a nut/washer. Have considered SR500 exhaust nuts or custom M8 SHCS with smaller OD heads. What vendor do you suggest. Several vendors on ebay offer 60mm carb holders for the VM32-34 so figuring same part from everybody. Mikuni flange, M-VM34-200K, appears to have the correct mount bolt spacing and 8.5mm hole size, ordering one today. We'll see.

I remove the studs and use allen head or torx bolts to attach rubber manifold adapter to cylinder.  The 200K part number sounds like the correct one.  It's been awhile since I got one but I think I have one around here someplace.
