Anyone have a 285 prefix single ring mx piston and an early piston port enduro piston to compare skirt lengths? I have an mx cylinder and an enduro piston I want to run together.

I'll look tomorrow if noone has the answer but it's about 5mm on the inlet side.could sit the cylinder loosely on & bring piston to TDC then see how much skirt is left showing in the inlet.

Sorry i'm hopeless, just did it now & Std DT1 is 72mm front & rear. DT1MX is 68.4mm front & rear. I measured as near to the very edge of top as i could get then down to the skirt base using verniers on both. I guess the inlet side is more important for performance than shortening the exhaust side skirt. Took some pics but not sure i can post now my google photos is full. Might try youtube if can load a still shots & post a link. I sat a gudgeon into both for a pic. Cheers.
Ok here goes, think i loaded stills to youtube.

Thanks I went to google and saw the difference, wonder if I should just use the mx piston? They are all over Ebay.

Up to you, if the cost isn't over the top. Might be able to sell your DT1 piston kit & recover some cost. I run an MX piston in my DT1 with a 32mm 360 carb. Been like it forever & goes well.
