I've got an engine to clean tomorrow in same stage. Does Super Clean leave any film after drying?

pabdt- I have only used the Super Clean when I can rinse it really good with water so not sure about just spraying it on then trying to wipe if off...
For me WD-40 around controlled cleaning such as an engine etc... seems like the better way to go.
I also use a wood Skewers to get into all the nooks and crannies to loosen up the packed in gunk with the WD-40 then wipe wipe with Paper towels to get the mass off...

My goal for this bike is to not make it OVER Restored... everything is in pretty good / original shape and that is the way I want to present the finished bike.

All the Gloss Black parts are now Cleaned- Scotch Brite prepped and final wipe done with Isopropyl Alcohol.
Will be time to lay down the new paint... excited to see how this Eastwood Paint works.

Also- got the new Parts Washer all set up and ready to go!
I mounted it on a furniture dolly- makes it easy to just roll it around where needed.

Process is looking great!... the cleaner on wheels is awesome.
Sorry, my question was not clear. I have a problem w/Simple Green that after washing, rinsing, drying, a dry film frequently occurs on the part. I have a solution for that, Just searching around for new stuff to try and was wondering what Super Clean did after drying, but I guess I can just try it huh.

Thought I saw Super CLean on amazon...thinking I may give it a go.

Super Clean will discolor and corrode aluminum if you leave it on too long, but so will Simple Green. So don't drop a carb in straight Super Clean and let it soak overnight or anything.
The Castrol stuff works great and is basically a weaker liquid form of Easy Off oven and stove cleaner

Some more good progress on the DT1 MX Project
As I have stated many times in the past.... anything that I clean up and for lack of better term "Restore"... which I really dislike that term as for me it moves these great old bikes way beyond what they were when new- all polished out etc... Turning them into Museum Pieces.
For me- my goal is to achieve an extremely Clean and original looking bike as it would have looked back in the day and represents a bike that can be if you choose to Ride and Enjoy it the way it was meant to be.
Anyway.... got all the Gloss Black parts painted- it took 2 Cans of the 14 oz Eastwood Gloss Black Chassis spray paint. The paint laid down very nice and smooth and only took 2 coats.

First coat- I applied fairly light just enough paint to cover the metal- I let that cure for a couple of days... next hit it lightly with the Scuff pad again to just remove the gloss finish and to make sure all the surfaces where smooth- final wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol.
This image is hidden for guests.
The Second coat was applied a little heavier to give it a full wet gloss finish.

Also by the looks of the finish.... I will not be applying the 2K Clear coat... the can says this paint has an 85% Gloss which turns out to be Perfect for these bikes... has about the same sheen that a couple of my Powder Coated Frames have.
This image is hidden for guests.
Powder Coating is a very good way to go... but when I figured what I Saved with this paint and doing it myself... it was a substantial savings and gives me the exact same look and I feel Durability with this high resin chassis paint!!
Now I will let everything fully cure under the Infrared Heater-

Always fun when you get to this stage and get to work with and install Freshly painted "Clean" parts!
This image is hidden for guests.
Everything is now fully cured and the finish is Outstanding- Paint has a smooth gloss finish and is solid for sure.

So.... Now I can move on to the Engine to finish the Cleaning and lightly polishing the side cases... get the Cylinder clean and a fresh coat of Heat Paint / Engine reassembled and drop into the Frame.
Will also be getting many other parts going in the New Parts Washer to get those all ready to go.

Then is will be Time to Re-assemble the bike!
These are such Cool Bikes when finished.

Well the great thing about an MX Bike is the less amount of parts and bags!
Now have everything laid out together to continue the cleaning of every nut and bolt and to see if I will need to order any additional parts.

And how cool is this- Rick C knows how to do it right!!
Its things like this (Label) that just add the Coolness to a project... going to preserve this for sure!
