I’m having a problem with piston rings for a 1970 DT 250 C the rings I got part number 214–1 1601–12. Supposedly are the right rings but the piston ring lands are not square they are the tapered style my pistons says Yamaha inside, so it’s original, so I’m not sure if the rings are wrong or piston rings are missed box or? Any facts would be greatly appreciated ,merry Christmas to all!

'm going crosseyed looking at it but oversizes are in there.
I now see it says unavailable but ebay could have them.

Those rings should be Keystone type . Your piston should have a K stamped on the crown to signify Keystone Type .
The 12 suffix denotes the type of rings in the kit . Don't remember exactly but one type had a chrome top ring .
Anyway , the type of run in was different .
You didn't really specify what your problem was ?
I'd expect the two should go together fine .

I got sent the wrong DT1 rings by--their--mistake in the early days of everything on ebay being very bargain priced & freight also at good rates.
The seller sent the tapered keystone type at no cost. Think i still have those parallel [think very first model DT1] rings.
Yesterday i'm sure i heard our dollar is only worth 61c US which doesn't help [i'm in nz]

Right!!. Which i think is the number in my above link. I'd better ask MarkT for help to say if i'm correct or to tell me off lol.

The number RT 325 quoted in post # 6 are the rings to match your piston .
Shouldn't be too hard to find a set .
