i have a 1971 yamaha 360 enduro rt1. i cant read the middle digit on the steering lock. its worn off. any suggestions on how to find that number anywhere else or where i can buy key blanks? the first digit is 3 the last is 7. just missing the middle number!

Curious about your bike...my 71 RT1 360 doesn't have a steering lock. My 73 RT3 360 does have a steering lock. On the U.S. Bikes the steering lock doesn't show up in parts lists until 73. You may want to look at your bike's serial number and confirm for sure what you have. Titles can be wrong...serial numbers should tell for sure. In case you need other parts for your bike you'll want to know for sure what you have. Some parts are different between the 71 and 72/73.

If I remember correctly, the AT2, CT2, DT2 and DT3 do not have steering locks. Not sure about the LT2. Steering locks started in 1973.

Thanks - just checked my VIN's which are matching engine and frame the VIN falls right in the middle of the 71 VIN production, according to this website. The VIN is RT1-15999.

I'd like to chime in here. I have an RT# with the steering lock but no key. How would I get a properly cut key to fit? Thanks.

3 digit code on face of lock cyl. start there. mine had the center number destroyed so im buying a cyl assy from Deet
