CT1 carb float bowl gasket ? was created by PDXtyist

Hi fellows.
On our CT we ordered the Keyster rebuild kit for the bike. What a disappointment. Many of the parts did not fit.
The float bowl gasket was nowhere close. So I made a gasket out of our “tar-paper like” gasket material. Guess what? Yep it leaks as it’s too thin.
I noticed the Keyster gasket to be 1.1mm thick.
Is there a source anywhere for the proper float bowl gasket or a recommendation on a gasket material that will do the job?
Thanks.

Hope you didn't use any of the Keyster jets or slide needle.

Use Suzuki part 13251-11010 for the float bowl gasket.

Both have been discussed dozens of times here... problem with such a big and popular site is stuff gets buried pretty fast here but search works pretty good.

My experience with the CT1C carb is that the bowl is wide with only 4 screws. The distance between the screws makes it hard to get it tight without it cracking, 45 year old alloy is brittle. I have found some Keyster components are OK, some not. Try another source for the bowl gasket and presoak it in gas to soften it. Install it and install the screws and then a day later tighten them up again.

And I don't mind that these old bikes leak a little (so do I).
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

Thank you MarkT and 1971DT250.
Good info and yes I agree. We did a search and did not find the info we needed and hence our post realizing all of this. This is an excellent forum and know that it’s users truly appreciate its contents. Good work fellows!

Thanks and you're welcome.

On the search here... I typed in the most logical request I could think of... "CT1 float bowl gasket" (without the quotes) and the first page of results had the alternate Suzuki part # listed in several posts... (This thread came up first because it's newest but after that almost every search result on the first page of results listed the Suzuki part.)

I generally use a computer and web browser... and while I've been frustrated on other forums with the search function, the search here works awesome for me. In fact I used the search to look up the Suzuki part number for you... I wonder if the people having trouble with searching here are using a cell phone or some app or browser or something that makes the search less effective? Or maybe I'm just lucky.

Received the float Suzuki bowl gasket. Fits like a glove. Bummer that the Keyster kit was a flop. Majority its parts were useless. Thanks fellows for your help sorting this out.
