1973 atmx was created by teamster6

I loved the look of the ltmx so well i liked its bigger brother the 125. Found this one and looks like I am going to grab it. Not in the best of shape but the pipe is in good condition. Oil tank and silencer is gone as well as the oil pump but I think I can find these parts. Interesting part is the left side case is a differant animal on this bike. Front fender and mount are there bent but I think i can straighten that out.

That is the correct left side case for a 73 ATMX. Should be a nice project. Jeff

I know where one of those bikes are. I have touched it, and sat on it........the guy won't sell it. It is leaning against a tree that should grow around it any time. :Ugh

Around here it is hard to find these bikes I dont think they ever sold many. I raced a 72 model back in the day. Wished I would have kept it. Funny thing I noticed there is a tail light somebody put on there. No lighting coil on this bike so I am wondering what in the world that is about. Anyways I dont think there is one. The ltmx is just a lead to the coil from the mag.

I just watch for one so that I could swap all the stuff from my yellow ATMX to it. Silly but it bugs me that it is a clone. Jeff

If the ignition is stock It has a lighting coil. They used the same stator as the CT`s.

Well we got her home. Not great shape but better than expected. Has a strange set of rear shocks on it. Handlebars changed. Somebody actually wired the tail light and a headlight with controls on the bars so at some point it had lights. Now we have been scrutinizing the seat. Does not look like a original seat but not sure compareing the atmx to a ltmx. The ltmx is kind of high in the back with a arch.goes back to the frame over back fender. The seat on this atmx looks more like a at1 seat lower profile and does not go back to rear frame over fender. Now not sure looking at pictures the atmx looks like a lower profile seat. I thought it would be more like the ltmx.
