DT3 Tank Decals was created by OldAmerican
So I am restoring my DT3 and have come to the part where I paint the tank and apply new decals. Does anyone have diagram, measurements, etc. for locating the decals? Been looking at pictures on the web but that just gets me in the ballpark. Hoping to do better than that.

Do you have decals still on your current tank? I have never found anything like you are describing, so I have just taken a lot of measurements in advance.
Be aware that the replacement decals on the market are not "identicle" to Yamaha originals...... they look really good but they are not exact.

Unfortunately, years ago my son did a "restoration" and didn't replace the decals at that time. Thought there might be someone out there with a survivor that could take measurements if there wasn't some other documentation.

If you could post some points of reference (ie where you want the measurements from and to), then I'll see what I can do. Bear in mind, though, that all I have to use is an embroidery tape measure (yes, one that I nicked off Gr8auntiepat!

There's a guy on the Facebook group, Yamaha Enduro Appreciation named Dickie Towers. His folks owned a Yamaha dealership and he posts stuff regarding these older classics he'd kept from the dealership. Several months ago he posted a Yamaha document regarding the gas tank decal placement for a '72 DT2. You might want to try and track him down on Facebook if he's not a member here.

I do prefer some of the old fashioned measurements (particularly pints of ale

Some of the older property leases in this country do have a ground rent of one peppercorn, although I have heard of ground rent being set as one golf ball!

There is a bulletin for the 1972 models... I haven't seen one for 1973. I will take a look.

“ confess I had to look barleycorn up in the dictionary!”
I had to look up what’s a “dictionary” (just kidding) good to see people still using the old school methods, although I will admit I haven’t used one in years with Google at your fingertips.

I couldn't find anything on 1973 decal placement. It might exist out there though.
