Indian tanks was created by am_85@yahoo.com

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has info on badge tanks manufactured in India, I was thinking of taking a chance on one of these.  I have a 69’ and 71’ AT1 and looks like both need tanks.  I also understand that the 125 and 175 badge tanks are the same and interchangeable?  Longtime Enduro fan, new to the resto hobby, any info is greatly appreciated.

 from near Salisbury, UK.

As far as I know, the jury is out at the moment.

Here in the UK, a member of the RD forum has commissioned two tanks for his RD400 (not delivered yet). However feedback on the Indian made repro LC tanks is negative.

Saw on the Yamaha DT Enduro facebook site that someone got a DT tank from India and it was crap - did not fit, leaked gas around cap and paint peeled from leaking gas.

Some Indian tanks are fine, but its very much a matter of luck if you get a good one or not.

This is off of the Vintage DT page:
Perhaps it was a fluke, but I ordered one of those reproduction fuel tanks from India for my 1975 DT 250. Did not fit over frame backbone like it should, came with incorrect fuel valve, gas cap leaks terribly and paint wiping away around fuel fill, also was not close to real Portuguese Orange color. Correct part for this bike was ordered, very poor quality IMO. Use caution.
Later in post said he got it off of Ebay.

I looked on ebay for an AT or CT badge tank and didn't see any reproductions from India?
