Karburátor 26mm YAMAHA DT/CT 125/175 was created by daniel-jaros

Hello. Does anyone have experience installing a 26mm carburetor on a YAMAHA DT/CT 125/175?
Will it have any effect or sense if the carburettor is changed from 24mm to 26mm?
Thank you Daniel Czech Republic

Transfer ducts, and reed cages are both quite restrictive on these engines, and improving those areas, will mean a bigger carb will work much better.

A few of the members here ran a CT3 175 at El Mirage for a land speed record. Some of the best speeds (over 90 mph!) were attained with a 24mm carb.

Okay, thank you for the answer. If a 26mm carburetor is fitted to the stock engine without modification will it have the effect of improving it?Or can you modify the velocity channels and air butterfly valves?Thank you

26mm carb alone, will make very little difference. With a bigger reed block, and large volume free flow air box, the bigger carb will make a difference.

Computers or website is playing up. Hope this posts.
Ok Mark ya going to have to tell us all the trick now lol [& your tricks too]. Could be a very technical & interesting story. [But super interesting]. Pics too of the record setting attempts please.
Ok, you can have an escape clause if not easy to do. All good.

Would think that for 90mph, unless the bike is fully faired and very low, its going to need around 30hp?  That's very impressive for a CT3 with a 24mm carb fitted!
