Making good progress.
Ford Platinum White will be here later this week, but will have to wait as I have a busy week.
Handy having The Greenie nearby as an exact guide for the pinstripe.

How long do you wait to pull the tape off?

Not bringing anything useful, just an observation of how much trouble they went to to put the badges on the bikes in those days.... Easy to see why they switched to decals!

"How long do you wait to pull the tape off?"

Sometime after putting the pearl on

Previously I've taken it off a few hours after the colour coat.
I was hasty when I painted my AT1-C and let the end of the removed masking tape touch the fresh paint, which it stuck to like s#!t to a blanket, hopefully I wont make that mistake again.

When I painted my JT tank I asked the same question about how soon do you pull the tape stripe. I did MarkTs suggestion and painted a small piece of sheet metal at the same time I painted the tank. Coat for coat. Tape stripes and all. Then I took the advice of my local paint supplier and pulled the test tape as soon as you could see the final color coat starting to get tacky. It was similar to the time span between coats. Using the test piece to successfully pull the tape gave me confidence to go ahead and pull the tape off the tank.

Found a couple of hours this afternoon and the weather was perfect, so I managed to get the two stage pearl paint on and make Bernie a cup of tea (multitasking at it's best).
Tape came off fine about an hour after the last coat.
I was a little nervous since I put the tape on five days ago when I primed the tank, but all good.
Probably be a week before I get a weather window to finish up with the clear coat.
