There is a tire thread on the forum that may help you decide. I recently put Perelli's on mine.

Just mounted these Tusk Adventure. Have only done road test so far= low vibration, good grip on dry pavement. They seemed very stiff when mounting . The rear 120/90x18 was a max allowable width and does go all the way forward on chain adjuster with about 1/8" clearance on chain guard. There was a sale at rocky mountain in December on these tires I think because the rear was backorderd for 2 months .

Those tusks are great off road too but hard to mount. I eventually took the rear into the shop after too many pinched tubes.

That tire looks like it could tread over nails, fire, and glass and laugh at the other end .

Came across this a while back... might help... basically just a longer spacer and longer bolt.

Good one Mark, there may be a clearance issue on the exhaust of a 74. I mounted the tusk tire on a 76 400C which has a flattend exhaust section next to the shock for extra clearance.

got the rear wheel done. Will post the part#s sent to me by Buchanan Spokes, they were a perfect fit for front and rear wheels.
The front wheel was a "real fun" to get trued. The rear wheel came out with little to no vertical/lateral run out. In any case, save the hubs and wheels.
pic of the rear wheel assembly:

glass blasted the upper and lower triples today. The aluminum upper was glass beaded, then quickly polished w/alum oxide.
waiting on powder to come in, but for now this was worth a pic. Could almost install it as is.
