Thanks , I'll give that a shot. I have just about decided that new fitment is the way to go.

The catalog at Sudco has individual parts for a huge variety of Mikuni and other carbs, They may not have your linkage, but I'll bet the have a brand new float + needle set. They have a online catalog, it's super extensive, but are very friendly on the phone.
