Hey Guys …. Here is my fairly used ginger brown 77’ XT500 available for sale ….still in a good condition and good shape . nice xt that has been restored except for the tank and rear fender. All black parts have been powder coated except for the clocks and engine witch have been painted the engine has been beed blasted to bare metal. new parts include double oil line to valves. cylinder has been honed and new rings installed. new seat cover all new cables and lots of new rubbers. new grips. new progressive shocks. front forks rebuilt. carb rebuilt. new front and rear knobby. most bolts changed to stainless steel. all other metal parts were re zinc coated including the spokes. The front and rear wheels were rebuilt with new seals and bearings. swing arm has new bearings. new wiring loom. all electrics work but no turn signals. NOS supertrapp exhaust . new head light. new battery. new levers. nbsp;new chain. new clutch springsi am sure there are new parts that i can't think of right now. So is the above user a scammer as per user @ CHIPSDT250 stated in another thread where CHIPSDT250 is trying to buy some parts? A few things don’t make sense in this thread, seller states bike is fairly worn and notes of plenty of engine work yet the odometer is only showing 1170 miles? On another forum I am a member there was so much scamming going on they made it a rule to have a post it note or paper with the sellers forum handle and the current date on every photo of a part that was for sale, seemed to work fairly well in slowing down the scammers. I hope I am wrong about this seller?

Google photo search shows this XT500 photos and ad copied almost word for word from what appears to be sketchy for sale ads at old online sites.  Could be legit, might be a scam?

As always, buyer beware.  I can't imagine anyone here hasn't heard or read about how to protect yourself from a scam...  but just in case simply searching the Internet for "tips to avoid a scam" will return tons of advice and methods scammers use.  And if something doesn't "feel right", it probably isn't. 

looks good. They're great bikes the XT & TT500. Cousin had an SR500 on the road & was great too. Those had cdi ignition if i remember right & the XT/TT had points.

I know ChipsDT250 and have bought a 75 DT250b from him out of VT. There have been so many scammer out there lately that you have to be extra careful.
