Old race bike. Starts and runs. No title.

My original plan was to find a second parts bike and build vintage mx style bike. Some inspiration here - www.chinonthetank.com/2014/03/yamaha-at-ct-dt-rt/

The project has sat on the backburner too long and I have kind of lost interest. Lots of cool and hard to find stuff here, posting to see if anyone is interested in taking the lot while I continue to search for another parts bike.

I think the photos tell most of the story but here is a description as well.

Engine has a webco head, fresh bore and piston, and PO said they checked that crank was in spec and replaced crank seals.

Worst of it is the body work and frame. It was hacked off behind the rear shock mounts and has a very interesting (unfortunate) mod to accommodate the pod filter. The swingarm has also been extended.

This photo of the bike complete shows an R5 front end and clip-ons. I will be keeping this front end setup unless you convince me otherwise. Instead I will include the original forks and 21" aluminum DID front wheel. The rear is an 18" aluminum borrani. I also removed the rear-sets you can see in the one photo and have fitted stock foot pegs.

The red shocks are ceriani.

PO said they thought the silver colored underslung pipe is jemco but I cant find any marking on it. The other exhaust is Bob Bailey with some sort of additional Bassani muffler or spark arrestor or something.

I think that covers most of it. Im hoping to sell the entire lot local pickup (Baltimore area) before I consider parting/selling individual stuff.

Im hoping $1500 is in the right ballpark for everything. I know things aren't always worth the sum of their parts but I figure just the engine and two pipes is probably worth $1k+

Price drop to $1000

I still wouldn't mind keeping the r5 front end but its included at this price. Price wont change with or without. If you let me keep it youre just doing me a favor.

Considering a part out as well, especially if you are local. Shoot me an offer if you want any bits.

This is stuck around a lot longer than I expected and I could really use the space and the funds.

Thanks,
Mike
