I'm now into 2 strokes again! was created by XRArin
Hi guys,
I sold my 82 IT465 since I completely broke the side cases while trying to start it (the right way). I then sold the 84 IT490 since it needed a ton of work that I didn't have time for. For the past 2 months, I was thinking about acquiring two 2 strokes but had to be big bore bikes. After doing a lot of research, I decided to buy 2 Kawasaki KX 500's. The only difference is ones from 1990 and the other one is 2004 (the last year of the KX500). I then take both bikes to my mechanic so he can go through them to make sure they are ready for the desert. I also had him put on about $3,000 worth of mods and OEM parts on the bikes to get them up to date. I now have both KX500's back in my garage all upgraded for the desert and ready to ride!!
I had to sell my XR650R since I know these bikes are much lighter and faster. All I can say is I'm officially back into 2 strokes and hope to stay in that category

I rode a 90s KX500 one time and OMG I couldn’t even hold a straight line on that thing. Never have I experienced so much raw power and acceleration. It was NOT for me. Those are some BadAss bikes you got there.

Hey Arin, nice to hear from you ! Kick azz bikes you have there!!
I don't know if you heard that Dave Meis and Don probably won't be doing rides again.
Dave has logged out of this site, and Don is enjoying Europe with his new wife. I wish them both happiness and enjoyment in their new endeavors. With heavy hearts we all will miss them both.
as for the rides.....
Yes, that means- Endurofest, Full moon Fever and Cal Dreamin' rides are in jeopardy of no more.

Thank you for letting me know about Dave and Don's plans about not going to Hungry Valley again. Thats definitely a shock

Dave never told me about retiring from Hungry Valley but at the same time, I can understand that he wants to move on

. I hope to seek more people to ride with in the near future because I will be acquiring 2 Husqvarna's. One being from 1979 and one being a 2022 model. Thats will be a total of 4 bikes.
But again, thank you for informing me about this.
