MarkT:
Scootern built me a set of Curnutts for mine...  excellent shocks!  Just be aware that they are not "normal" and many people think there's something wrong with them bouncing on the seat in the garage.

Me:
Some of you guys don't realize how important everything last thing you say can be for those of us who don't know what you guys know. I bought a set of Curnutts off a guy on the site here, and when I got them, I put them on a bike and was "WTF" with them concerning how they acted and sounded (rusty and rubbing) like a worn out set off an old Dodge Dart! Took them off and tossed them in the corner of the garage where they have been for a couple of years! Now you tell me! Thank you, Mark! I'll dig them out, find a bike, and slap them back on. Only this time, I'll go riding!

I checked my Curnutt files and in 1977 there was also a very limited run of "Malcolm Smith Replicas". They came with MS tank bag, MS handlebars, VDO Speedo, PP headlight, a black airbox, Mikuni carb, and of course Curnutts. I recieved a photo from Charlie Curnutt Jr of the poster hanging on his garage wall, so it's legit. Either Replica would not have come from the distributor with a Curnutt decal on the swing arm. A dealer may have installed them though.

The mag article said Malcolm replica was 250WR.  It shows a Curnutt decal on swingarm of the 360WR Burleson replica tested.

Also explains the "replica" bikes were "kits"...  you couldn't buy the kit itself but for like $100 extra on a new bike you could have the dealer install the kit.

So once again your info is good Scott!
