Searching for MIkuni Carb Needle # 24J1 #1
Restoring a 1965 Yamaha YDS3M twin, missing one carb needle - Mikuni # 24J1
Carburetor is MIkuni VM 24-26.
Searching for an OEM needle before going with a substitute option. A long shot, but you never know what may be in another enthusiasts shed.
Thanks!!

That number you have quoted doesn't match with genuine mikuni series numbers .
I suspect you already have a Keyster or like carb kit installed .
My research shows a YDS3 had a 4D4 needle .A search on Ebay on OEM p/n 156-14116-04-00
pulled up some on auction # 324004589259 . there were probably others too .
As you had expressed a preference for OEM parts , which I think is wise , you probably
need to order a pair . Good luck .

Thanks Swoop!!
One certainly never knows what mods have been done over the years to our vintage bikes.
I saw the 4D4 needle for the YDS3 street bike which shares an otherwise identical carb. The 3M is a factory race bike, was fortunate to have another YDS3M in garage so pulled carb needles from that bike & it has pair of Mikuni 24J1 - that's how I determined (or mostly assumed) the 24J1 was OEM. The needles also have a Mikuni stamp on them. Probably impossible to find so will likely go with new Mikuni needles w/comparable measurements.
Really appreciate the feedback!!!

Sorry for putting you wrong . I missed the M part .
If you could track down a parts book , a Google or ebay search on the p/n might turn something up .
