Harbor Freight Dial Indicators are fine. I use 'em.
I don't use a plug adapter tho. Pulling the head's easy and then I mount an indicator on this homemade rig.

NIce piece-of-art there, pntrbl.
I also pull the head on the DT/RT, and use the HF Digital on a like/same adapter.
On CT/TY(Straight Down), I use a homemade spark-plug adapter, built from an old plug:

Here is a straight-down shot.
I drilled and tapped-in a couple of 10-32 Hex-Head, Set Screws
after I cut off/cleaned out the insides of the spark plug.
A drop of Blue Loctite on each set screw, to keep them in place.

Harbor Freight Tools, it is a discount tool supply in the U.S.
it is a Pittsburgh brand and cost around $30.00 reads in both sae and metric. Sometime they have coupons available for 20% off.
