My JT wheels had minor surface rust that cleaned up well using brass wool.
As for painting spokes......I did it on my DT175C. The spokes had been kept clean, but there was no plating left on them, so they were very dark in color. I painted the hub and the spokes, taping off the nipples and rim. Is that a hack job? Absolutely! But it's two years out and still holding up well.

thank you. i have 4.5 yamaha's, and 2 kawasaki's.
jt1, dt250 and 3.5 x rd400f Daytona. one is in original condition and other 1.5 in pieces. will restore some day for a father n son project.
