Keyster Carb Repair Kit was created by Sleeman
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to write a little about the Keyster Carb rebuild kit.
I've got a 1978 DT175. It ran OK, but never right at the higher RPMs. I cleaned the carb a few times and it didn't seem to help. It would always kind of flubber at higher RPMS and also kind of pulse on and off when trying to maintain a speed and 5000K+ rpm.
Any way, i picked up the Keyster carb rebuild kit for about 30$ CAD shipped. I installed all the new jets /needle/ gaskets and the bike runs GREAT!.
Worth the money if you have any doubts about your carb

I agree. I've used them in 7 rebuilds on DT/RT carbs. Nice quality and good performance.

So, the Keyster kits ARE good to use? Complete kits. I've read some entries in these forums that say DON'T use certain parts in the Keyster kits, but rather use only genuine Yamaha parts. Confused.

I ordered all factory yamaha parts. This way I was certain I was using quality correct parts.

The ones I used were bought about 7 years ago. I must have gotten lucky or they were using good components back then.

Keyster uses their own "calibration"...
I've solved more running issues by going back to OEM jetting than I've seen Keyster jetting that works well.
One issue with Keyster is if you ever decided to ride at high altitude and needed to re-jet, you'd really have no idea where to start as their jets and needles are not calibrated the same as Mikuni...
