1970 Yamaha RT-1 360 Enduro looking for an electronic ignition was created by theschrode
I have a clean, original, 1970 Yamaha RT-1 360 Enduro and a very clean, stock 1971 Yamaha DT-1 250 Enduro. I'm looking for an electronic ignition for my 1970 RT-1 360 Enduro. Any thoughts, suggestions on where I can find an electronic ignition? Thanks, Tom

Standard flywheel setup: www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7238/7238dcmain.htm
Heavy flywheel (trials ) : www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7345/7345main.htm
Very nice products, fast shipping from Germany.

pretty sure a very late "70's DT250 or DT400 will bolt on & be trouble free. Had a similar set up on my RT2 for the last 20 years & never missed a beat. Recently sold the bike.

I want to mention the standard PowerDynamo flywheel is much lighter than the 74-76 DT250,360 and 400 flywheels. the stock flywheels on those bikes is again much lighter than the 1968-71 250 and 360 flywheels.
it will rev fast like a YZ!
I have 1 of these on a 1975 DT400B and it revs very quick, MUCH faster than stock.

In my opinion [when wifey lets me have an opinion] Heavy the flywheel the nicer the motor with these old 360's. in fact i have a brass ring fitted to one of my 360 relics & make for a Lazy but Powerful motor, plus easier starting.

Thanks for your feedback. I ordered the heavier rotor from powerdynamo. I appreciate your response and your opinion was helpful.

Thanks for your response and feedback. I ordered the heavier rotor from powerdynamo. Now I'm looking for the best 1971 DT-1 250 seat cover I can find. My original seat cover split a seam and upholstery shops say I need to replace the seat cover as they can't repair it. Any thoughts or suggestions on locating a very original, stock looking DT-1 seat cover? I know you can find them on eBay, I was wondering if you or someone knows of a member who know where to locate a seat cover. Thanks
